History
Founded in 1954 as Wall's Livestock Supply, Walco International, Inc. began as an offshoot of a family-owned drug store business which also supplied veterinary products to its customers. Over the years, Mr. Willard Wall had acquired ownership or controlling interests in various smaller distributors which were merged with the family business to form Walco in 1972. Sunwest had an extensive history in the animal health industry before being aquired by Walco International, Inc. in 1997. Walco itself was purchased for the first time that year and eventually went public as Animal Health International, Inc., in 2007.
